The Hinderer Armorer's Tool has a precise fit screw driver blade to help eliminate any movement inside the slot that can damage the finish. If using a standard screw driver, we suggest putting masking tape on the tip to prevent marring of the finish. If you do damage the finish inside the slot you can use 360-600 grit sandpaper to sand the slot uniformly for a 2-tone finish.
