Benchmade 317-1 Weekender Slip-Joint Pocket Knife

The Benchmade 317-1 Weekender is the canvas Micarta version of Benchmade's two-blade traditional slip-joint. It carries a 2.97" satin CPM-S30V clip point as the main blade, a 1.97" secondary blade, and a folding cap lifter, with no lock on either blade. Micarta is a compressed layered composite sealed in thermosetting resin, so it shrugs off water and develops a comfortable, broken-in feel over years of pocket time.

Closed, the Benchmade 317-1 Weekender is 4.08" and weighs 2.28 oz, with a lanyard hole and no pocket clip. It is a knife built for the kind of carry where a tactical folder feels like too much: opening boxes, cutting food, handling a bottle, and getting handed to someone else without a second thought.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a slip-joint knife?
A slip-joint holds its blade open with backspring tension instead of a lock. The Benchmade 317-1 Weekender can be closed by pressing the blade spine against that tension, which is why non-locking slip-joints are legal to carry in many places that restrict locking folders.

How do you close the Benchmade 317-1 Weekender?
Keep your fingers out of the blade path and push the spine down against the backspring until the blade swings shut. There is no lock bar or button to release on the Benchmade 317-1 Weekender.

What is the difference between the 317 and the Benchmade 317-1 Weekender?
Same blades, same slip-joint pattern, same CPM-S30V steel. The 317 uses gray G10 scales, while the Benchmade 317-1 Weekender uses canvas Micarta for a more traditional look and feel.

Is the Benchmade 317-1 Weekender legal to carry?
Non-locking slip-joints are the most broadly permitted folding knives, but blade-length limits and local rules still vary. Check your local and state laws before carrying the Benchmade 317-1 Weekender.

Does the Benchmade 317-1 Weekender come with free sharpening?
Yes. Benchmade's LifeSharp service will sharpen and tune both blades of the Benchmade 317-1 Weekender for the life of the knife.

Where is the Benchmade 317-1 Weekender made?
In Oregon City, Oregon, at Benchmade's USA manufacturing facility.

Where can I buy the Benchmade 317-1 Weekender?
Going Gear is an authorized Benchmade dealer, so every Benchmade 317-1 Weekender we sell is genuine and covered by the full Benchmade warranty and LifeSharp service.
