Benchmade 3551 Mini Stimulus – 154CM Push-Button Automatic Knife

The Benchmade 3551 Mini Stimulus is a pocket-sized push-button automatic knife and the 2016 update to Mel Pardue's 3550. Press the button and the 2.99" 154CM spear point fires open and locks, giving you a fast one-handed blade in a package that still rides easily in a front pocket.

Symmetrical black anodized 6061-T6 billet aluminum scales give the Mini Stimulus a slim, ambidextrous profile, and an integrated safety on the spine blocks the button so the knife stays shut until you want it. The satin-finished blade carries a faux top edge that keeps the spear point looking sharp without a second sharpened edge.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an automatic knife?

An automatic knife, also called a switchblade, opens from the fully closed position when you press a button or switch, driven by an internal spring. The Benchmade 3551 Mini Stimulus is a side-opening automatic, meaning the blade swings out from the side of the handle rather than sliding out the front.

How does the safety on the Benchmade 3551 Mini Stimulus work?

The Benchmade 3551 Mini Stimulus has an integrated safety on the handle spine that physically blocks the fire button. With the safety engaged the knife will not deploy if the button is bumped in a pocket or pack, and sliding it off restores normal one-touch operation.

Are automatic knives legal?

That depends on where you are. Automatic knife laws differ by country, by state and sometimes by city, and several US states have changed theirs in recent years. Check the current rules for your location, and for anywhere you plan to travel, before buying or carrying the Benchmade 3551 Mini Stimulus. Going Gear cannot give legal advice on your local rules.

What is LifeSharp?

LifeSharp is Benchmade's lifetime factory service. Send your Benchmade 3551 Mini Stimulus to Benchmade and they will sharpen the blade, replace worn hardware where possible and return it to working condition, free of charge for the life of the knife.

Where is the Benchmade 3551 Mini Stimulus made?

The Benchmade 3551 Mini Stimulus is designed and manufactured at Benchmade's facility in Oregon City, Oregon, USA.

Is Going Gear an authorized Benchmade dealer?
