Benchmade Barrage 580SBK – Combo Edge Assisted Opening EDC

The Benchmade Barrage 580SBK is the blacked-out combo edge version of Warren Osborne's original Barrage 580. The 3.60" black-coated 154CM drop point carries partial serrations for rope, webbing, and tough fibrous cuts, and the AXIS Assist mechanism springs the blade open from either thumb stud with an integrated safety for secure carry. The textured black Valox handle with steel liners keeps the knife around 4.3 oz. This generation of the Benchmade Osborne Barrage is discontinued, so remaining stock is limited.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Benchmade Barrage a good knife?

Yes. The Benchmade Barrage 580SBK is one of the most popular assisted opening knives Benchmade has made. 154CM stainless steel holds a keen edge, the serrated section powers through tough materials, and the AXIS Assist action is fast and ambidextrous.

What makes the Benchmade Barrage unique?

The Benchmade Barrage 580SBK combines the AXIS lock with spring-assisted opening, a pairing few production knives offer. Either thumb stud fires the blade and the integrated safety locks it closed in the pocket. It is a Warren Osborne design built in the USA.

Is the Benchmade Barrage 580SBK an automatic knife?

No. The Benchmade Barrage 580SBK is spring-assisted, not automatic. You start the blade with the thumb stud and the spring finishes opening it, which keeps it legal in many areas that restrict automatics. Knife laws vary, so check your state and local regulations before carrying.

Can Benchmade sharpen the serrated edge on the 580SBK?

Yes. Benchmade's LifeSharp service covers the Benchmade Barrage 580SBK for the life of the knife, including service on the combo edge and its serrated section, even though the model is discontinued.

Where is the Benchmade Barrage 580SBK made?

The Benchmade Barrage 580SBK is made in the USA at Benchmade's facility in Oregon City, Oregon.

Where can I buy the Benchmade Barrage 580SBK?

Going Gear is an authorized Benchmade dealer. The Benchmade Barrage 580SBK is discontinued, so availability is limited to remaining dealer stock like this listing.
