Benchmade Barrage 581SBK – Premium M390 Barrage, Combo Edge

The Benchmade Barrage 581SBK is the black combo edge version of the premium Barrage 581. The 3.60" Bohler M390 drop point wears a black coating and partial serrations for rope, webbing, and tough fibrous cuts, mounted in a contoured black G10 handle with polished aluminum bolsters. The Benchmade Barrage 581SBK is discontinued and no longer in production, so remaining stock is limited.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Benchmade Barrage a good knife?

Yes. The Benchmade Barrage 581SBK pairs the best steel in the Barrage line, Bohler M390, with a hard-working combo edge and the fast, ambidextrous AXIS Assist action.

What makes the Benchmade Barrage unique?

The Benchmade Barrage 581SBK combines the AXIS lock with spring-assisted opening, a pairing few production knives offer, finished with G10 and aluminum bolsters. It is a Warren Osborne design built in the USA.

What steel does the Benchmade Barrage 581SBK use?

The Benchmade Barrage 581SBK uses Bohler M390, a premium powder-metallurgy stainless steel hardened to 60-62 HRC with outstanding edge retention and corrosion resistance, here black-coated with a partially serrated edge.

Is the Benchmade Barrage 581SBK an automatic knife?

No. The Benchmade Barrage 581SBK is spring-assisted, not automatic. You begin opening the blade with the thumb stud and the spring completes the motion, which keeps it legal in many areas that restrict automatics. Knife laws vary, so check your state and local regulations before carrying.

Can Benchmade sharpen the serrated edge on the 581SBK?

Yes. Benchmade's LifeSharp service covers the Benchmade Barrage 581SBK for the life of the knife, including service on the combo edge and its serrated section, even though the model is discontinued.

Where is the Benchmade Barrage 581SBK made?

The Benchmade Barrage 581SBK is made in the USA at Benchmade's facility in Oregon City, Oregon.

Where can I buy the Benchmade Barrage 581SBK?

Going Gear is an authorized Benchmade dealer. The Benchmade Barrage 581SBK is discontinued, so availability is limited to remaining dealer stock like this listing.
