Benchmade Mini Barrage 585-2 – Premium S30V G10 Generation

The Benchmade Mini Barrage 585-2 is the upgraded second generation of the compact Warren Osborne designed Mini Barrage, introduced in 2016 with premium CPM-S30V blade steel and textured gray G10 handle scales in place of the original's 154CM and Valox. The 2.91" satin drop point blade snaps open with the AXIS Assist mechanism from either hand, and an integrated safety keeps it secured closed. This model has been discontinued by Benchmade.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Benchmade Mini Barrage a good knife?

Yes. The Benchmade Mini Barrage 585-2 is the premium version of one of Benchmade's most popular assisted openers, pairing wear resistant CPM-S30V steel with grippy G10 scales in the same compact, pocket friendly format.

What is the difference between the Benchmade 585 and 585-2?

The Benchmade Mini Barrage 585-2 upgrades the original 585's 154CM blade to CPM-S30V and swaps the black Valox handle for textured gray G10, which raises the weight from 3.40 oz to 3.76 oz. Blade length, AXIS Assist action, and overall dimensions are identical.

Is the Benchmade Mini Barrage 585-2 an automatic knife?

No. The Benchmade Mini Barrage 585-2 is a spring assisted knife: the blade must be started manually with the thumb stud before the AXIS Assist spring takes over. Assisted openers are treated differently from automatics in most jurisdictions, but check your local laws before carrying.

Does Benchmade sharpen the Mini Barrage 585-2 for free?

Yes. Benchmade's LifeSharp service will clean, tune, and resharpen the Benchmade Mini Barrage 585-2 to a factory edge for the life of the knife, you only cover shipping to Benchmade.

Where is the Benchmade Mini Barrage 585-2 made?

The Benchmade Mini Barrage 585-2 is made in the USA at Benchmade's factory in Oregon City, Oregon.

Where can I buy the Benchmade Mini Barrage 585-2?
