The Benchmade Barrage 580-2 is the upgraded G10 generation of the Benchmade Barrage 580, the Warren Osborne design that made AXIS Assist famous. Nudge the thumb stud and the 3.60 inch satin CPM-S30V drop point springs open the rest of the way on its own, locking up on the ambidextrous AXIS mechanism with an integrated safety. Gray textured G10 scales over stainless liners replace the original Valox handle, giving the 4.94 ounce knife a more premium feel. Benchmade has discontinued the 580-2, so remaining stock is the end of the line for this G10 Barrage.

Is the Benchmade Barrage a good knife?

The Benchmade Barrage 580-2 is one of the most popular assisted-opening knives Benchmade ever built. It combines premium CPM-S30V steel, the fast AXIS Assist action, and a hard-use Osborne design, which is why the Barrage family kept a devoted following for over a decade.

What makes the Benchmade Barrage unique?

The Benchmade Barrage 580-2 was among the first knives to pair Benchmade's ambidextrous AXIS lock with spring-assisted opening, plus an integrated safety that locks the blade closed. That AXIS Assist combination, in a Warren Osborne designed platform, set the Barrage apart from other assisted folders.

Is the Benchmade Barrage 580-2 an automatic knife?

No. The Benchmade Barrage 580-2 is an assisted-opening knife: you start the blade moving with the thumb stud and the spring finishes the job. Because the user initiates opening, assisted knives like the Barrage are legal in many places that restrict automatics, but always check your local laws.

Does LifeSharp cover the Benchmade Barrage 580-2?

Yes. Benchmade's LifeSharp service covers the Benchmade Barrage 580-2 for life. Benchmade will clean, oil, tune the assist spring, and resharpen the blade to a factory edge free of charge.

Where is the Benchmade Barrage 580-2 made?

The Benchmade Barrage 580-2 was made in the USA at Benchmade's Oregon City, Oregon factory.

Where can I buy a genuine Benchmade Barrage 580-2?

Buy the Benchmade Barrage 580-2 from an authorized Benchmade dealer like Going Gear. It is discontinued, so availability is limited to remaining dealer inventory.
