Benchmade H&K 14300S Snody – 440C Recurve Combo Edge Folder
The 14300S is the combo-edge version of Mike Snody's design for Benchmade's Heckler & Koch line. The 2.97" 440C stainless blade carries the same modified drop point and pronounced recurve as the plain-edge 14300, with serrations added along the rear of the edge for rope, webbing and other fibrous material. The black Zytel nylon-resin overlay handle is heavily textured at the bolster and scalloped through the grip, sitting over full steel liners, and ambidextrous thumb studs open it from either hand.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a combo edge?
A combo edge splits the blade between a plain section near the tip and serrations toward the handle. The plain portion handles clean push cuts and detail work while the serrations tear through rope, seatbelt webbing and cardboard. On the Benchmade H&K 14300S Snody that gives you one blade that covers both jobs.
Are the Benchmade H&K knives discontinued?
Yes. Benchmade no longer produces the Heckler & Koch licensed line, so the Benchmade H&K 14300S Snody is a discontinued model available only as remaining dealer stock or on the secondary market.
Who designed the Benchmade H&K 14300S Snody?
Custom knifemaker Mike Snody, known for lean tactical designs and aggressive recurve grinds. The Benchmade H&K 14300S Snody is the part-serrated production version of that design.
What is a recurve blade good for?
The concave section in a recurve edge concentrates force and pulls material into the blade during a draw cut, which suits rope and webbing. Combined with the serrations, the Benchmade H&K 14300S Snody is a strong cutter on fibrous material. A round or ceramic rod is the easiest way to sharpen the recurve.
Is 440C good knife steel?
440C is a high-carbon, high-chromium stainless with good edge-taking ability and solid corrosion resistance. Because it is stainless, the blade on the Benchmade H&K 14300S Snody needs no special rust care beyond wiping it dry after use.
Where was the Benchmade H&K 14300S Snody made?
Benchmade's own knives are designed and built in Oregon City, Oregon, but the Heckler & Koch line was a separate licensed program. The published spec sheet for the Benchmade H&K 14300S Snody lists its country of origin as Import.
Where can I buy the Benchmade H&K 14300S Snody?
Going Gear is an authorized Benchmade dealer. This model is discontinued, so availability of the Benchmade H&K 14300S Snody is limited to remaining stock.
