Benchmade H&K 14402SBK Pika II Folding Knife

The Benchmade H&K 14402SBK Pika II is the full size Pika, a tactical folding knife with a 3.50 inch black coated 9Cr13 stainless clip point running a combo edge. The oversized ambidextrous thumb hole opens it cleanly from either hand, glass filled nylon scales over dual stainless liners keep it tough, and a lockback holds everything in place. Four pocket clip positions cover tip up, tip down, left and right carry. This model has been discontinued and is no longer in production.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Pika II and the Mini Pika?

Size. The Benchmade H&K 14402SBK Pika II (SKU BCM-HK14402SBK) carries a 3.50 inch blade on an 8.32 inch overall frame at 3.74 oz, while the 14412 Mini Pika is a 2.90 inch blade on a 6.97 inch frame at 2.75 oz. Both use the same thumb hole, glass filled nylon scales and lockback layout.

What is a combo edge and is it harder to sharpen?

A combo edge, sometimes called part serrated, puts a plain edge toward the tip for clean slicing and controlled detail cuts, with serrations nearer the handle for sawing through rope, webbing and fibrous material. The serrated section of the Benchmade H&K 14402SBK Pika II (SKU BCM-HK14402SBK) needs a tapered round rod rather than a flat stone, so plan on a dedicated sharpener for that half of the blade.

Is 9Cr13 a good blade steel?

9Cr13 is a value-tier stainless roughly in the same class as 440A or AUS-8. Run at 58-60 HRC on the Benchmade H&K 14402SBK Pika II (SKU BCM-HK14402SBK), it sharpens easily and resists rust well, which suits a working tactical folder. It is a stainless steel and needs no special care beyond keeping it clean and dry.

Is a 3.50 inch blade legal to carry?

That depends entirely on where you are. Many US cities and states cap carry at 3 inches, 3.5 inches or 4 inches, and some restrict clip carry or concealed carry separately. The Benchmade H&K 14402SBK Pika II (SKU BCM-HK14402SBK) sits right at 3.50 inches, so check your state, county and city knife laws before carrying it.

Where was the Benchmade H&K 14402SBK Pika II made?

Benchmade builds its own knives in Oregon City, Oregon, but the Heckler & Koch line was a separate licensed program produced to a lower price point. Going Gear's spec sheet for the Benchmade H&K 14402SBK Pika II (SKU BCM-HK14402SBK) lists its country of origin as Import.

Is Going Gear an authorized Benchmade dealer?

Yes. Going Gear is an authorized Benchmade dealer, so listings like the Benchmade H&K 14402SBK Pika II (SKU BCM-HK14402SBK) are genuine factory product, not counterfeit or grey-market stock.
