Frequently Asked Questions

What is an automatic knife?

An automatic knife, often called a switchblade, keeps its blade under spring tension while closed and fires it open at the press of a button. The Benchmade H&K Mini Entourage 14751BK uses an enlarged push button with an integrated safety, so the knife will not deploy accidentally in a pocket.

How does the Benchmade H&K Mini Entourage 14751BK work?

Slide the safety off, press the button, and the spring drives the 2.87" tanto open and locks it. To close, hold the button in, fold the blade back into the handle against spring pressure until it latches, then set the safety again. Keep your fingers out of the blade path.

Are automatic knives legal?

Automatic knife laws vary by state and often by city. Many states permit them, some cap blade length or limit them to particular professions, and a few prohibit them. The Benchmade H&K Mini Entourage 14751BK has a 2.87" blade, which clears the common 3" and 3.5" caps, but you should still confirm your local rules.

What is the difference between the Mini Entourage and the full size Entourage?

Size, essentially. The Benchmade H&K Mini Entourage 14751BK has a 2.87" blade at 6.78" overall and 3.70 oz; the full size 14701BK runs 3.74" at 8.44" and 4.50 oz. Steel, action, handle material, and safety are the same on both.

Where is the Benchmade H&K Mini Entourage 14751BK made?

Benchmade builds its own knives in Oregon City, Oregon, but the Heckler & Koch line was a separate licensed program and the Benchmade H&K Mini Entourage 14751BK is listed as an import. Benchmade has retired the H&K line.

Where can I buy the Benchmade H&K Mini Entourage 14751BK?

Going Gear is an authorized Benchmade dealer and lists the Benchmade H&K Mini Entourage 14751BK when stock is available. Automatic knives ship only where local law allows, and this model is discontinued.
