Frequently Asked Questions
What is a combo edge blade?
A combo edge pairs a plain section near the tip with serrations near the handle. On the Benchmade Mini Griptilian 555SBKHGSN, the serrated section powers through rope, webbing, and zip ties while the plain section handles clean slicing.
What is a sheepsfoot blade good for?
A sheepsfoot blade has a straight cutting edge and a blunted tip, which makes it ideal for controlled utility cuts with less risk of accidental punctures. The Benchmade Mini Griptilian 555SBKHGSN uses a modified sheepsfoot profile that keeps that control in a compact EDC folder.
Is Benchmade discontinuing the Griptilian?
The Griptilian line continues, but this 154CM generation is out of production. The Benchmade Mini Griptilian 555SBKHGSN is discontinued, and current Mini Griptilian production uses CPM-S30V blades with black Grivory handles.
Does Benchmade's LifeSharp service cover the Benchmade Mini Griptilian 555SBKHGSN?
Yes. Benchmade's LifeSharp lifetime service will clean, oil, adjust, and re-sharpen the Benchmade Mini Griptilian 555SBKHGSN, though serrated sections have more limited re-sharpening support than plain edges.
Where is the Benchmade Mini Griptilian 555SBKHGSN made?
Like all Benchmade knives, the Benchmade Mini Griptilian 555SBKHGSN is made in the USA at Benchmade's facility in Oregon City, Oregon.
