Lithium batteries have a lot of advantages, but they are kind of pricey, hard to find in some countries, and not in every junk drawer in the world like AAs. One AA cannot provide a whole lot of power to a CREE XM-L LED, but 6 AAs can crank the light up to 700 lumens on max output.
The S65 is, of course, the light we are talking about. Not only does it feature an easy to find power source, it also has a design that makes it extremely tough and water resistant. The interface is controlled by a side switch near the head of the light.
