Sea to Summit Compression Sack S (stscompsacks)

The Sea to Summit Compression Sack S (stscompsacks) is the heavy-duty member of the compression family. Where the Ultra-Sil version chases minimum weight, this one is cut from 210D PU-coated nylon and built to take abuse in a duffel, a truck bed or a canoe. Four evenly spaced straps pull a 10 liter load down to roughly 3.3 liters without letting the sack bulge, and the "Flip-Top-Lid" design keeps the straps from tangling every time you open it.

Features

  • "Flip-Top-Lid" design prevents strap tangling
  • Made of heavy-duty 210D PU-coated nylon
  • Four straps for even compression; eliminates bulging
  • Extra-long straps so the sack is easy to fill to maximum capacity
  • Nylon webbing pull handle on the bottom
  • Black body with end panels in blue, red, yellow, black or green

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the Sea to Summit Compression Sack S compress?

The Sea to Summit Compression Sack S (stscompsacks) takes a 10 liter load down to roughly 3.3 liters once all four straps are cinched — about a two-thirds reduction. It measures 7" x 16" uncompressed.

What is the Sea to Summit Compression Sack S made of?

The Sea to Summit Compression Sack S (stscompsacks) uses heavy-duty 210D PU-coated nylon, a noticeably tougher and thicker fabric than the 30D siliconized Cordura® on the Ultra-Sil version. The trade-off is weight: you gain abrasion resistance and give up a couple of ounces.

Should I choose the Sea to Summit Compression Sack S or the Ultra-Sil version?

Pick the Sea to Summit Compression Sack S (stscompsacks) when the sack will live in a duffel, a canoe or a truck and take real abrasion. Pick the Ultra-Sil Compression Sack when every ounce counts on a long backpacking trip. Both share the same four-strap flip-top-lid compression system and the same size range.

Is the Sea to Summit Compression Sack S waterproof?

No. The Sea to Summit Compression Sack S (stscompsacks) is a compression sack, not a dry sack. The PU coating sheds light moisture, but the seams are not taped and the closure is not a watertight roll top. For waterproof storage look at the Sea to Summit eVent or Ultra-Sil Dry Sack range.

What should you pack in the Sea to Summit Compression Sack S?

At 10 liters the Sea to Summit Compression Sack S (stscompsacks) suits a summer sleeping bag, a down jacket, a fleece and base layers, or an overnight clothing kit. Lofty compressible items gain the most from the four-strap system.

Where can I buy the Sea to Summit Compression Sack S?

You can buy the Sea to Summit Compression Sack S (stscompsacks) at Going Gear, an authorized Sea to Summit dealer. Every sack ships new in original packaging with the full manufacturer warranty.
