Spyderco Lil' Native C230GPCBL — Pocket-Sized CPM SPY27 EDC

The Spyderco Lil' Native C230GPCBL distills the functionality of the iconic Native 5 into a smaller, more pocket-friendly package that is sized to be legally compliant almost everywhere. Its 2.42" full-flat-ground leaf-shaped blade is made from Spyderco's own CPM SPY27 stainless steel, an advanced alloy produced through Crucible's CPM particle metallurgy process that balances corrosion resistance, toughness and edge retention.

Stainless steel liners form the foundation of the knife's stout Compression Lock mechanism and its easy-to-clean open-backed construction. Those liners are nested into peel-ply-textured G-10 scales finished in the signature cobalt blue of Spyderco's SPY27 family, and the ambidextrous wire clip carries the knife tip-up in either pocket. At 2.5 ounces it is one of the most capable EDC pocket knives you can carry without noticing it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What steel is the Spyderco Lil' Native C230GPCBL made from?
The Spyderco Lil' Native C230GPCBL uses CPM SPY27, a Spyderco-exclusive powder metallurgy stainless steel that offers a superior balance of corrosion resistance, toughness and edge retention for everyday cutting.

How does the Compression Lock on the Spyderco Lil' Native C230GPCBL work?
The Compression Lock on the Spyderco Lil' Native C230GPCBL wedges a leaf-shaped spring from the liner between the blade tang and a stop pin, so the blade is locked by compression rather than friction. You unlock it by pushing the spring aside from the spine, keeping your fingers clear of the edge path.

What is a leaf-shaped blade?
A leaf-shaped blade like the one on the Spyderco Lil' Native C230GPCBL has a gently curved belly that tapers to a centered point, giving it a long usable cutting edge for slicing while keeping enough tip strength for detail work.

Is the Spyderco Lil' Native C230GPCBL legal to carry?
With a 2.42" blade, the Spyderco Lil' Native C230GPCBL falls under the common three-inch blade-length limit found in many US cities and states, which is precisely why Spyderco designed it. Always confirm your own local and state knife laws before carrying.

How do I sharpen the Spyderco Lil' Native C230GPCBL?
The full-flat grind of the Spyderco Lil' Native C230GPCBL sharpens easily on a Sharpmaker or any ceramic or diamond rod system. Match the existing edge bevel, use light alternating passes, and finish by stropping to remove the burr.

Does the Spyderco Lil' Native C230GPCBL have a reversible pocket clip?
Yes. The Spyderco Lil' Native C230GPCBL ships with an ambidextrous wire pocket clip that mounts for tip-up carry on either the left or right side.

Is the Spyderco Lil' Native C230GPCBL a good EDC pocket knife?
The Spyderco Lil' Native C230GPCBL is an excellent EDC pocket knife: it weighs just 2.5 ounces, disappears in a pocket, opens one-handed via the Spyderco Round Hole, and delivers full-size cutting performance from a compact 5.89" overall package.

Where can I buy the Spyderco Lil' Native C230GPCBL?
You can buy the Spyderco Lil' Native C230GPCBL at Going Gear, an authorized Spyderco dealer. Every knife we ship is genuine, factory-fresh, and backed by the full Spyderco warranty.
