The BOT-L-BIT is made of C45 tool steel, which is a cold-worked, medium-carbon high quality steel suitable for surface hardening. The material is first extruded through a die to form the standard hex shape, then machined to create the custom profile. It is then heat treated utilizing a carbonitriding process for surface hardening, then nickel plated for durability and protection. The end result is a durable, wear-resistant hex bit that will last (and open bottles) for many years.
